Trust in His Plan: July 25, 2025 Daily Devotional

Scripture

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

— Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

There’s something deeply comforting about knowing that God has a plan—even when we can’t see it.

Jeremiah 29:11 has been a guiding light in my life. Through seasons of uncertainty, heartbreak, and even near-missteps, this verse has reminded me that God’s hand is never far. There were moments when I was on the verge of choosing the wrong path—times when I thought I knew better. But God, in His mercy, stepped in. Sometimes subtly. Sometimes boldly. Always faithfully.

You’ve probably heard the joke about the man stranded on a rooftop during a flood. He prays for God to save him. A boat comes by—he declines. A helicopter comes—he declines again. Eventually, he drowns. When he gets to heaven, he asks God, “Why didn’t You save me?” God replies, “I sent a boat. I sent a helicopter. What more were you waiting for?”

The signs are all around us.

God’s plan often unfolds through people, opportunities, and even obstacles. But we have to be willing to see them. We have to trust that even when the path is unclear, the destination is secure in His hands.

Your circumstances don’t define you—they refine you.

Every challenge you face is shaping you, strengthening you, preparing you. God doesn’t promise a life without hardship, but He does promise that His plans are good. That they are filled with hope. That they lead to a future worth waiting for.

So today, I encourage you:

  • Trust the plan. Even when it doesn’t make sense.

  • See the signs. They may not look like what you expected.

  • Commit to change. Growth requires movement.

  • Commit to God. He’s already committed to you.

Let Jeremiah 29:11 be more than a verse—let it be your anchor.

Prayer

It’s me again. Just sitting here, thinking about how many times You’ve shown up for me—even when I didn’t realize it was You. Thank You for not giving up on me, even when I was ready to give up on myself.

Sometimes life feels like a mess. Plans fall apart, people disappoint, and I start to wonder if I’m even on the right path. But then I remember—You have a plan. A good one. One that gives me hope, even when I can’t see the full picture.

Help me to trust You more. To see the signs You’re sending—whether it’s a boat, a helicopter, or just a kind word from a friend. Open my eyes and my heart to Your direction.

I know change isn’t easy, but I want to commit to it. I want to grow. I want to become the person You’ve always seen in me. So today, I’m handing it all over—my fears, my doubts, my plans—and I’m choosing to trust Yours instead.

Thanks for walking with me. For carrying me when I couldn’t walk. For loving me through it all.

Amen.
